Automatisering
At our headquarters we use TMS-software supplied by ART-systems.

Our planners work without any paper, they process all the transactions straightaway into the computer system.
The drivers are supplied with their assignments by the same computer system. When an assignment has been carried out, the driver indicates this at his board computer.
By GPRS a message is sent to headquarters, where it is picked up by the TMS-programme.
The data are processed and can be e-mailed to the customer in question, if necessary.
E.g. container numbers and times of loading and unloading.
We are already using our third generation of board computers. In 1992 it all began with a simple ride registration machine, but this has now grown into a multi-functional device.
The present computers, supplied by Groeneveld, are able to provide ride registration (and, linked to this, an account of driving hours) as well as processing of assignments, communication, navigation and tracking and tracing.

Technology
Technology does not just include computerization, but nowadays there is also a lot of technology used in our vehicles.

We, Peeman Transport, have contributed to the development of D-tec’s Flexiload, according to our own vision.
The wish to get no exceeding of the load on the rear axle of the truck without fitting it with an extra axle, made us think.
After we had told D-tec about our idea, the people there were immediately enthusiastic about it. And so the Flexiload was born in good cooperation.
The Flexiload offers the driver the possibility to optimize the load on the axle, after loading, by shifting the axles of the trailer under the container.
He shifts the axles forward or backward, until the display in the dashboard of the truck shows the correct value.
The system also offers the possibility to centre a 20 ft container after loading, so that the rear axle of the truck just will get more pressure.
This contributes to a better roadholding and certainly improves safety.
Since 2005 we have in use 25 of these multifunctional trailers, of course fitted with ABS and ESP to guarantee safety as much as possible. |
